- Yes. Combat Studios coaches freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, and folkstyle wrestling in Bangkok, plus wrestling for MMA and BJJ. Tell the coach which ruleset you want — Olympic freestyle, Greco (no attacks below the waist), or US folkstyle.
Is there a wrestling gym in Thailand?
- Dedicated wrestling gyms are uncommon in Thailand. Combat Studios on Sukhumvit Soi 11 in Bangkok runs evening wrestling classes, midday wrestling for MMA/BJJ, Friday open mat, and private lessons with US coaches Tommy Hayden and Dante Brown.
What is the difference between freestyle, Greco-Roman, and folkstyle?
- Freestyle allows leg attacks and is the Olympic / UWW international style. Greco-Roman allows only upper-body attacks and throws. Folkstyle is the US school and college style, with more emphasis on riding, pinning, and escapes. We teach all three at Combat Studios.
Can beginners learn wrestling at Combat Studios?
- Yes. First-timers start with stance, motion, and level changes. You do not need a wrestling background. Drop-in from 500 THB, or book a private if you prefer a one-on-one first hour.
Do you teach wrestling for MMA and BJJ?
- Yes. Tuesday and Thursday 12:00–14:00 is wrestling for MMA and BJJ. Evening groups and privates also cover cage entries, mat returns, and passing after a takedown.
When are wrestling classes in Bangkok?
